About Encore Alpacas
Welcome! Martha Dobbins (left) grew upon on a farm, raising horses, cows, sheep and cain. She was smitten with alpacas at first sight, Her dedicated years as administrator, and now training director, for a private facility, Starr Commonwealth, has certainly prepared her for dealing with all manner of alpacas and alpaca crazed people! Plus, as educators, we are well equipped to answer your questions and are pretty patient.
Shirley Knaack (right) just THOUGHT she had retired! Her brilliant career as a Home-Ec teacher wonderfully prepared her for the fabulous world of alpaca fiber and all it involves.
Encore Alpacas is dedicated to producing the finest alpacas, with the finest fiber possible. Period. Now, that might sound like a mighty tough row to hoe, but it is a row that has been taken to heart here at Encore.
This past year we attended several area shows and really enjoyed that aspect of alpaca ownership. We actually earned our first Color Championship on one of our HomeBred Alpacas. Talk about exciting….and fulfilling. After decades of showing dogs, these guys are a snap! Except they are not quite as easy to transport as one of our French Bulldogs.
